Sweden has reached two finals in the international badminton tournament Victor Swedish Open in Uppsala.

The biggest surprise was the men's doubles pair Filip Karlborg and Mio Molin who won against the Dutch Ties Van Der Lecq and Brian Wassink in three sets: 18-21, 21-19, 21-18.

"It was a really good atmosphere out there," said Filip, "and we got a good start in the first set."

Filip and Mio did not tremble in the last deciding points, but took a big victory, one of the biggest in their careers. "This is what you live for, this is what all the hard work should lead to, to feel this success, it's really cool."
Mio was of the same opinion. "It was a crazy atmosphere in the hall and this was one of my best performances, it's amazing."

Adding to the home crowd's excitement, Tilda Sjöö and Moa Sjöö Gozzi repeated the feat and won their semi-final. They defeated a French pair, fourth-seeded Tea Margueritte and Flavie Vallet in three sets: 21-12,13-21, 21-11.
"Before the decisive set, we decided that we have everything to win and nothing to loose, said Tilda. It feels fantastic to be in the final.”

This means that there is Swedish representation in two of the finals tomorrow in the IFU Arena.

Andi Fadel Muhammad from Indonesia but presently living in Uppsala and representing the local club Fyrisfjädern, advanced to the finals in Mens singles without loosing a set so far in the tournament, i.e. an impressive seven straight match wins since the qualifiers began on Thursday.

The final session starts Sunday at 10:00 and you don't want to miss it!
